March Bag/Pouch making tips

We had a great turn out for our March meeting.

Thanks to Jane Ewald and the Abiding Faith Lutheran Church for hosting us!

We had many visitors in March.  Some of which were from the North Alabama MQG.  We wish them all the luck and success in starting their new guild.

We were given so many great hints and tips on everything related to pouch making.....from stabilizer, to zippers, to hardware. Special thanks goes to Jenny, Maria, Betty, Marcia, Veronica, and Jennifer for  bringing examples and answering our many questions.

Festive as always, Jenny prepared examples of different stabilizers for us to see.

We had a great show and tell! More and more showed up as our meeting went on.  We hope you enjoy seeing pictures of all of our projects. I added names under the pictures of quilts that show no owners.

2018 Retreat

This years' retreat was a huge success!  We had a total of 34 attendees, with a handful being guests.

Special thanks goes to our local Quilt Shops for donating door prizes for the event.  The Quilting Squares, Stitchers Playhouse, The Dancing Bobbin, Sewing Machine Station, Craft South, and members Stefanie Williams, Kim Gawrys, Katie Dornan, and Emily Collins all donated prizes.

Another thanks goes to Craft South and Elizabeth Thomas for bringing an amazing selection of fabrics to be purchased at the retreat.  Shopping in our comfies is certainly the way to go!

Please join us Saturday, March 17th in Smyrna at the Abiding Faith Lutheran Church from 10am-2pm for our next meeting. We will have some members giving tips on perfecting our pouch making skills.

Here is a small sampling of the many fun projects from the retreat:
