December Holiday Party and Gift Exchanges
Our annual Holiday Party was a rousing success this year. Delicious food was eaten, amazing hand made gifts were exchanged, and fabric was fought over during the fabric Dirty Santa Game.
It was a very fitting way to end a year of friendship and fun among quilters.

November Meeting Recap | Reverse Applique Demo, Quilt Con Charity Quilt Sew & 2019 Planning!
Hi all!
I'm going to start off by posting our proposed 2019 Schedule. We had a ton of great suggestions, so thank you to everyone for helping us map out next year! Our incoming officers are working hard to get all of this set up, so we'll be posting more info & specific details about these challenges, swaps, events, classes, etc. closer to the start dates!
As always, all of our meetings will begin with a few minutes of business (if we have any), and our favorite part, Show-and-Tell!
We have had tons of requests to make nametags, and we thought we'd pick something that could do double duty - a lanyard badge holder for QuiltCon that we can carry over to using for regular meetings! We also want to do a UFO Promise Challenge - where you bring a UFO to our January meeting, show it to us, and then we bring them all back in November and see how far we've gotten! Sort of like accountability buddies for sewing projects!
Feb. 16 | Open Sew
This is the weekend BEFORE QUILTCON! So we will be hosting an Open Sew!
March 16 | Modern Mystery Fabric Challenge begins & Open Sew
We'll be starting a Mystery Fabric Challenge Swap - you bring a wrapped (or brown bagged) package of QSQ fabric that another person will pick blind!
April 20 | Open Sew/Possible Class or Speaker
May 18 | Open Sew/Possible Class or Speaker
June 15 | Modern Mystery Fabric Challenge Reveals & Community Service Sew
If you participated in the MMFC, we'll do our project reveals during Show-&-Tells! Following, we'll do our first Community Service Sew for the year! The proposed project is pillowcases for foster children, which we have done before in 2017
July 20 | Shop Hop!
Our annual Shop Hop! In 2018, we went to Paducah, but this year we'll stay closer to home!
Aug. 17 | Guild Destash & Possible Speaker
Bring all those pieces you no longer LOVE for our guild destash, along with your spending money! This event is always a lot of fun, and the more people that participate, the more fun it is!
Sept. 21 | Fall Retreat
In the works, we'll be working on planning a fall retreat this year!
Oct. 19 | 2020 Elections & Community Service Sew
We'll be electing our 2020 Officers, and then doing our second Community Service Sew of the year.
Nov. 16 | UFO Promise Reveals! 2020 Planning & Possible Visiting Guild
If you brought a project in January, bring it back to our November meeting to show off your finished (or unfinished, but hopefully further along) project! We'll also plan out ideas for 2020, and possibly have another local guild in to visit.
Dec. 14 | Holiday Party!
Our most wonderful meeting of the year! We'll have a potluck lunch, Swaps, and a game of Dirty Santa!

October Meeting Recap | Quilt Con Charity Quilt Sew + Elections
Our October meeting was devoted time for sewing our Quilt Con Charity Quilt. We also held nominations for our 2019 officer elections, and voting will take place via email and our private groups, so members can look for that link and vote now through Oct. 31!
For our Quilt Con Charity Quilt, we have joined with other Tennessee MQG's to use the book The Quilts of Tennessee as inspiration, as the Tennessee State Museum will have an exhibit on it during QuiltCon 2019! The new State Museum is close to the QuiltCon venue, so if you're attending, please check out the exhibit as well!
