September 20 2014 Meeting

General Discussion:

Jenny reviewed our remaining calendar events for 2014.
October is our planning meeting and requested everyone bring 2 or 3 ideas.
November is our charity sew date where we will construct blankets varying in size and NICU smocks for the Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital. Encouraging everyone to invite a friend.
December is our Holiday Party with the Secret Santa Swap, Dirty Santa and pot luck luncheon.  We will also hold elections.

Bank ending balance - $661.05
Linda will check the pay pal account for any deposits.
Reminder dues are $40 with $15 going to Modern Quilt Guild

Discussed the Modern Quilt Guild Charity Quilt Challenge. 
Project is a twin size quilt (70 X 90).

Deadline is January 15
The members present agreed the Guild will not particpate.

SHOW & TELL
Everyone shared their hand dyed fabric we did at last month's meeting.  Beautiful color range.

Stefanie Williams shared Cherrios Quilt she made for a raffle for a sick child, a baby quilt finishing with scrappy binding and a swoon mini block she made into a pin cushion.

Linda Cunningham shared two Halloween quilt tops she is quilting.

Jayne Willis shared a lap quilt made with her hand dyed fabrics and shot cottons in blues and greens.

Betty Camfield shared her Michael Miller challenge with greay background and a cat zipper pouch from Straight Stitch Nation and patten tested a tolietry kit pattern.

Jennifer Haston shared the center block that she is constructing for a friend.  The center block is pink and red spelling out LOVE.  You will find flying geese and a landscape bottom.

Debby Lee had lots to share with her Pixalated heart in grey and blue batiks with a red square. She is planning on doing linear quilting.  She also brought an Irish table runner with a multi-color heart flower shape with a grey background. Debby also brought in her Mug Rug Exchange - Teal for Two.

Royce Vaughan shared a flower made with fabric dye pens. Her online quilt group made her a memory quilt with some of her favorite things. She also brought in the quilt our guild made for her as a rememberance of her husband.

Tori Grant shared a needle holder with tiny patchwork and a needlework kit.

Lindsay Connor is a busy girl.  She shared a strip piecing project that is a work in process. She is also working on patterns for a co-authored book, On the Go Bags.

LaTanya Channel shared a minky pieced quilt top in brown, mint and aqua and a quilt block she is working on, Modified Churn Dash and some Nine Patch blocks.
