September 2012 Meeting & Cathedral Windows Workshop

CATHEDRAL WINDOWS WORKSHOP
Instructor: Jan Smith
The classic Cathedral Windows block is well-loved by modern quilters due to the striking, bold geometric pattern it creates. Join instructor Jan Smith as she shares her knowledge and skill in creating this block, both by hand and machine. The goal for the class will be to make an eight square sample which will result in 10 complete windows and 12 half windows.

Fabric Supply List:

1 yard background fabric ( "frame")
1/4 yard for windows (all the same or mixture)
Cotton thread for piecing and turning "frame"
Thread for the "frame" should match it
If a warmer quilt is wanted, add 1/4 yard of batting.


General Class Supplies
1. Sewing Machine-in good working order, new needle, ¼” foot, walking foot & all-purpose foot
2. Thread and bobbins
3. Fabric for class project
4. 6” x 12” ruler
5. Rotary cutter – new blade and cutting mat
6. General sewing supplies
